Alexandre Dacosta

ALEXANDRE DACOSTA - visual artist, musician, composer, filmmaker, actor and poet. He held 17 solo exhibitions, RJ / SP / PE and Montevideo / Uruguay, and more than 100 group shows in Brazil and abroad. She received 2 painting awards: IBEU (1985) and Secretary of Culture at the XVIII Salão de Belo Horizonte MG (1986). He was professor of the Fundamentals Course at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage / RJ (2011-2016). In 1981 he created the “Dupla Especializada” with Ricardo Basbaum and two years later the “6 Mãos” Group, with Basbaum and Barrão. He is part of Grupo 8 Pés, who, dressed as waiters, perform interventions at vernissages. As a singer, musician and composer, he makes soundtracks for films and theater plays and recorded the album “Antimatéria” (Universal Music/Agracadabra/2017) with 13 authorial songs and the CD Book “ADJETOS” (Editora 7 Letras/2011) with 18 songs for sculptures. He created with Lucília de Assis the performance duo of singers and composers “Claymara Borges e Heurico Fidélis”, recorded the CDs “Cascata de Sucessos (Leblon Records-1992) and “Pirata Ao Vivo” (2003). As a director and screenwriter, he produced the feature-length documentaries “A Sobrancelha é o Bigode do Olho” and the autodoc “Akangatumirimusika”, 14 short films (6 fiction, 3 documentaries, 5 experimental) with 11 awards at festivals. As an actor, he was the protagonist of 5 feature films, 10 short films, participated in more than 40 films, 17 plays and musicals, series, miniseries and soap operas. As a poet he launched the E-Book “Autopoetics” (Lacre / 2017), the booklet “Memória do Vidro” (2016), and the book “[tecnopoética]” (7 Letras / 2011). He develops the sound art “Rádio Varejo” and participates in magazines, anthologies and poetry soirées.
