Laura Diciunaite

Laura Dičiūnaitė is a first-time filmmaker from Vilnius, Lithuania. Currently, Laura is in her final year of law student at Vilnius University and works as a consultant lawyer and project assistant in the sustainable energy sector. In her free time, however, Laura enjoys exploring her passion for the arts and filmmaking, bringing a creative contrast to her otherwise structured legal career. From a young age, Laura has been passionate about the arts, having studied painting, piano, and dance as extracurricular activities in art schools. This deep interest in the arts has driven her to further develop her creative skills and explore new forms of artistic expression, such as film. In addition to this film, Laura has directed several advertisements and music videos. While studying at Vilnius University, Laura was an active member of the Vilnius University Song and Dance Ensemble, where she participated in the main dance group and eventually became the chairwoman of the ensemble's board. Her short film ‘METAI’ is the culmination of years spent exploring ways to represent Lithuania’s rich traditional cultural heritage.
