Neza Jamnikar
Neža Jamnikar is a freelance movement artist from Slovenia, based in Auckland (NZ). She holds a BA in Dance, Choreography from Dance Academy Ljubljana (Slovenia), and a MA in Contemporary Dance Performance from IWAMD, University of Limerick (Ireland). Since 2009 she has (co)created, performed in, and collaborated on several full-length dance projects, dance films and short works with artists and companies in Slovenia, around Europe, HK and New Zealand, and was an artist in residence at ‘Rezi.Dance’, Czech Republic (2019); ‘Impulstanz’, Austria (2019); HKICAROS, Hong Kong (2018); ‘Oddstream Festival’, The Netherlands (2017); ‘Lake Studios’, Germany (2016); ‘TRY!’, Ireland (2016); Shawbrook, Ireland (2014). She is a co-founder of a dance collective Frankies (SLO) that mainly works in the field of site-specific performance. Interdisciplinary creative process is in the focus of her choreographic practice. She is interested in an instant composition as a performance format, re-imagining body-spaces, and in re-arrangement of audience-performer relationships.
