Philippa Rae

Philippa Rae has enjoyed writing mainly short stories, poems and non fiction pieces. She has written for children's radio, as well as anthologies and magazines from around the world such as The School Magazine (Australia), Highlights (USA), The Caterpillar (Ireland) and Storytime (UK). She has also written four print books and a fifty minute audio book of the Story of Noah. Her short pieces and books have been short listed or won awards such as the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards, The Purple Dragon Fly Awards, Readers Favourites Contest, The Plough International Poetry Prize, The Moondance International Film Festival etc. She orginally comes from factual and factual entertainment magazine radio production background. But has wanted for some time to develop the craft of writing short scripts. In the past, she has worked on two indie film development projects in the areas of factual research and promotions. One was the development of an award winning short horror film into a feature. The other was on sourcing contributors and facts about the origins of free speech for a documentary. Unfortunately neither projects were completed. She also worked as a member of the production team on a short dance film (Pointe Aheade) where she assisted mainly in organisation.
