Philippe Orreindy
Philippe Orreindy studied cinema at the University of Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle and quickly went on to make commissioned films for large organisations. He then directed a series of short cultural films for television, followed by documentaries in 26' and 52' formats. He has been working in fiction since his short film “I’ll wait the next one…”, which was nominated for an Oscar and Caesar and has received more than 35 international awards, including the “European Film Award”. He continues to make documentaries. In 2016, "Electro Ocean" won the “Sacem Prize for Best Musical Documentary” at the « Etats généraux du documentaire » of Lussas and selected at the FIFA (Montréal). His vision as a writer-director has moved closer and closer to “genre” fiction, within the framework of a social or political reality. In 2017, his short film, pre-acquired by France 2, “Every day”, about moral harassment, follows the same ‘fantastical’ trajectory as his feature film project “Eyes closed”. In 2018, he was awarded “Cinema Writing Aid of Ile de France Region” to assist with its development. This project is currently looking for a producer. He is currently seeking funding for another musical documentary project on the world famous classical music composer Nicolas Bacri who fought for thirty years in France against the "avant-garde" atonal branch of contemporary music, returning to melody and lyricism.
