NORTH CORMORANT ISLAND

Over ten years we follow the aging residents of a remote fishing village on the island of Sado in Japan. They struggle with the elements, the declining population, global warming and the pandemic with dignity and humour. The director, who has lived in Japan for many years, ponders the similarities between the village and his father's village in Wales and learns a lesson in humility, while he reflects on his father's life.
