The film explores the emotions of two individuals who were once close but now drift through life like shadows. They could be sisters, friends, or two halves of the same soul, divided by an inner conflict. In separate worlds, they experience longing and a silent struggle with loneliness, yet neither knows how to reach out for help. Over the years, the chasm between them has grown seemingly insurmountable. One of them falls—both literally and emotionally—breaking under the weight of her solitude. The other, sensing the fall but unsure how to intervene, is paralyzed by her own fear of rejection or exposing her vulnerability. "Years of Silence" is a short dance film shot in Norway (Bergen, Voss). It uses imagery of Scandinavian nature and its raw landscapes as metaphors, while the performers’ movements convey the yearning for peace, the search for hope, and the essential need for mutual support. The film underscores the importance of human connection.
