Besire Paralik

Besire Paralik is a queer feminist activist, filmmaker and video artist from Cyprus, based in Berlin. In 2023, she completed her education in film production and directing at the Wave Akademie für Digitale Medien. Her first documentary film on the division of Cyprus from a queer feminist perspective, Overcoming (58 min.), was launched in 2023 and has been shown and awarded by renowned film festivals in Germany, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and the UK. In 2025 she directed and edited another documentary film ‘‘One Homeland Two Homes’’. Currently she creates video art as part of Art Trio Sombrero M104 through live performances and explores ways of merging documentary film format with video art.
