David Casals Roma
David Casals-Roma (1972, Lleida, Spain studied Film and Media at the Birkbeck University of London. He also enrolled in different screenwriting and directing courses in Spain, United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands, Italy and the United States. David has directed short films, documentaries, corporate videos and has written several feature film scripts. como Story Editor y Script Doctor. Among the projects he has supervised there is “Dead of a Shadow” by Belgian director Tom van Avermaet, a short film that was nominated as Best Fiction Short Film at the 2013 Oscars. David has won over 100 awards worldwide and words as a screenwriter and directing teacher at different schools and Universities in Spain, France and the United States. Besides filmmaking, he has written novels, short stories, theatre plays and poetry. In 2021 he published the novel “21 Days of Rage”, which won the Morella Negra Award to Best Noir Novel published in Spain by a First Time Writer. In 2019 he started ECCIT (www.eccit.es), a film school in Lleida (Spain), with the main goal of training future filmmakers. He speaks fluent Catalan, Spanish, English, Frencha and Italian.
