Javier Fernandez Caldas Rodríguez

Bachelor of Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (Audiovisual Communication). Diploma in Film Direction from TAI. I work two years at the production company Elias Querejeta P.C. as production assistant, production manager, alderman and assistant director. In 1993 he founded his production company and produced the short films El Último Latido (Prize for the best short film in Spanish Film Week 1994, selected for Spanish Film Week in Hollywood, 2nd Prize and Prize for photography in Alcine 1993, Special Mention from the New Filmmakers Platform and selected in more than 20 international festivals, and broadcast on dozens of international television channels) and “Frágil”, with which he also consecutively obtained the Second Prize at Alcine 1994 in Alcalá de Henares and the Prize for the best photography at the Iberian Short Film Festival, also present at various international festivals. He commissioned different documentaries, commissioned by the Government of the Canary Islands, including Guayota shot 22 years ago and which is currently still projected daily at the Teide Visitor Center. Produces and directs the adventure feature film La Isla del Infierno, a delirious adventure comedy inspired by the history of the Canary Islands. For Canary Television, he writes, produces and directs the 13-episode series entitled La Noche del Crimen. Commissioned by the Ministry of Health, he directs six fiction short films, with the aim of raising awareness among young people of the need to use condoms; series of short films that was selected at different festivals, national and international. He collaborates with the production company OEK in the production of the television series titled “Los Otros Canarios”, directing the chapter titled “Carmelina Barbieri”, which was broadcast on TVC in 1999. At the same time, he has directed video clips (Tony Santos, Silvia Pantoja, Las Rats, Patricia Kraus, Solomon ...), and two other fiction shorts, El Olor del Café” 2005 and La Criada, in 2012. Commissioned by the Ministry of Public Works, he made three documentaries on water for the exhibition Zaragoza 2008. In Madrid he collaborated with the production company Entropía, in the production of different spots for television. He has directed 3 film courses. In 2000, Practical Management Course for the Cabildo de Tenerife, and two others for the 2012 and 2013 Adeje Summer University. In 2014, he produced and directed the Documentary, The Geometry of Dreams, a documentary about the poet Leopoldo María Panero. In 2015 he set up a sound and stop motion studio, where he develops animation film projects, video clips and musical productions. This last year he has collaborated with the production company Iro Pictures, founded in Tenerife in 2019 by Ignacio Caicoya, winner of two Hollywood Oscars for the films Interstellar and Ex Machina, in the special effects section. As a result of this collaboration, the video clip “In the Pines” will be produced, produced by Patricia Correa, with the photography direction of Iombi García and the production of Javier F. Caldas. Javier F. Caldas is currently working on the development of a television series.
