MELİS ÇEVİK'S BIOGRAPHY Melis Çevik was born on January 7, 2004, in Istanbul. From an early age, her curiosity for cinema led her to explore and engage with visual storytelling. What started as an interest during her high school years gradually turned into a deeper passion. To pursue this path, she enrolled in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department at Istanbul Gelişim University. Throughout her studies, she worked in various short film projects, taking on roles such as art director, production designer, and assistant director. These experiences helped her gain insight into the different aspects of filmmaking, both creatively and technically. Her attention to visual detail and her collaborative approach made her a valuable contributor on set. In 2025, she wrote and directed her debut short film Famn, marking the beginning of her directorial journey. Later the same year, she completed her second short film, Sorgu. As a young filmmaker who continues to learn and grow, Melis Çevik aims to explore new forms of storytelling and create emotionally resonant work.
