Peter Thorwarth

PETER THORWARTH is a German screenwriter and director known for his dark comedies and genre-bending films. He first gained attention with the award-winning short If It Don’t Fit, Use a Bigger Hammer (1996) and his cult hit debut feature Bang Boom Bang (1998). His screenplay for The Wave (2008) became a major domestic and international success, winning Germany’s top film prize (LOLA) and selling over 2.5 million tickets. Thorwarth later made a global impact with his Netflix hits Blood Red Sky (2021) and Blood & Gold (2023), both of which reached #1 in dozens of countries and solidified his status as a visionary voice in international cinema. SEBASTIAN UNGRAD is an experienced director and art director in film and advertising. After studying directing, he created music videos and commercials for major brands such as BMW, Bosch, and Stihl. More recently, his focus has shifted towards the integration of AI into his work, earning him the title "AI Rockstar" by IndieWire for his groundbreaking blend of AI and CGI. This innovative approach led him to join Storybook Studios, where he not only directed SPACE VETS, the world's first AI-generated animated series, but also served as one of its lead artists. Within the AI filmmaking community, Sebastian is also known as "The Butcher's Brain."
