Sayantan Mukherjee
Sayantan Mukherjee is widely recognised as the creator of the Netflix series “Ray,” a captivating four-part anthology based on the short stories of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. He is currently working on “Shanti Bhavan,” a mockumentary that showcases a group of quirky characters navigating life in the enchanting ghats of Banaras. Additionally, he serves as the Showrunner for the docu-reality series “Transition - Inside Out,” which powerfully explores the journey of a trans woman amid the glamorous yet challenging world of fashion and pageantry. A connoisseur of B-horror films and classic Hindi romances, Sayantan is also a devoted cat parent to his two beloved companions, Dope and Noor. Growing up in Haldia, a port town in Bengal, India, he faced a significant challenge: the nearest film theatre was a daunting 80 miles away. For him, experiencing a movie in a theatre was nothing short of a dream realised. With Zoya, he aims to create something extravagantly theatrical, blending style and substance in every frame.
