Tord Danielsson
Born and raised in Södermanland, Tord Danielsson discovered filmmaking early, crafting short films as a child using his father’s VHS camera, action figures, firecrackers, and ketchup. His passion for cinema ignited with ‘80s classics like Escape from New York and Back to the Future. But it was a worn-out VHS copy of Reservoir Dogs that sealed his fate – a film watched so many times the tape eventually broke. After directing several acclaimed TV dramas, he made his feature film debut in 2020 with the horror film The Evil Next Door. Despite limited theatrical release due to the pandemic, the film performed strongly in Swedish cinemas, received four Guldbagge Award nominations, and won for Best Sound. It has since been sold to over 30 countries.
