Ares, 35, lives in an abandoned city with his bedridden mother and an elderly professor—the only ones who refused to flee after a ghostly invasion drove out the population. In this post-apocalyptic reality, without electricity or communication, Ares and the professor wander through empty streets, unable to understand the ghosts' purpose. When the professor urges him to escape west, where distant radio signals still exist, Ares must make a painful choice: leave his mother behind in search of a future or stay and become a ghost himself.

REVIEWS:

The framing in this film is breathtaking. Almost every shot feels like a painting of quiet despair. It reminds me of Tarkovsky’s Stalker, but with its own post-Soviet poetic pulse.

Сложный фильм. Многогранный и многослойный. Будоражит внутренние вопросы истинных ценностей, выбора. Общее ощущение тяжести сочетается с красотой. После просмотра остается явный шлейф от фильма. Спасибо! A complex film. Multifaceted and multilayered. It stirs deep inner questions about true values and choice. The overall feeling of heaviness is combined with beauty. There’s a strong aftertaste that lingers long after watching. Thank you!
