Justin Gray’s Immersed is a groundbreaking cinematic album that transforms how audiences experience music. Composed, recorded, and produced as an immersive audio experience, the album features 38 artists from Toronto and around the globe, placing listeners at the center of a three-dimensional global orchestra. Created by Juno award-winning bassist and engineer Justin Gray, Immersed celebrates musical collaboration and artistry. It draws from Justin’s diverse musical influences, including his two-decade formal study of Indian classical music. Using Dolby Atmos technology, Immersed creates a 3D audio environment that places listeners in an “impossible seat,” surrounded by performances from every direction. This innovative experience blends original compositions with advanced audio production, offering a unique and transformative way to engage with sound. Paired with cinematic visuals, Immersed delivers a multi-sensory journey, redefining the boundaries of music and space. The cinematic version of Immersed features a dedicated cinematic mix, mastered in Dolby Atmos at Company 3 in Toronto. This film is a true celebration of the Canadian music community. The album and film were created and produced entirely in Canada. The film showcases 38 artists from diverse musical, cultural, and disciplinary backgrounds, and it is a testament to the world-class artistry here in Toronto.

REVIEWS:

Immersed is a landmark achievement in cinematic music presentation. It doesn’t just document performance, it transforms performance into an environment

Emily Johnson

It’s a redefinition of how sound and image coexist. The use of Dolby Atmos as a storytelling tool rather than just a technical feature makes the experience spatially profound, situating the viewer inside a living, breathing orchestra.

Mia Nguyen

The film risks being described as a technical showcase, but it goes far beyond that. Its true strength lies in how it celebrates diversity of culture, of music, of collaboration, weaving them into a seamless cinematic fabric.

Alan Martinez

Hearing Indian classical textures blend seamlessly with jazz, world, and contemporary arrangements was breathtaking. The collaboration of 38 artists created a global tapestry of sound that felt both intimate and universal.

Oscar Fernandez Rodriguez

There were moments when I closed my eyes and tears came.. from the sheer beauty of the voices and instruments surrounding me. It felt like being inside a prayer.

Aliona Canis

I’ve never felt music like this before. It wasn’t just on the screen or in the speakers, it was all around me, like I was sitting inside the performance itself.
