In the emptiness where 空 is written, ink slowly seeps. Turning back, there is nothing—only the void. Here, where neither coming nor going exists, nor above nor below, I unravel the dark threads of avidyā. ㅡ "O Ook Moo" is a dance film that explores the cyclical nature of human existence and the flow of impermanence (無常) within it. The central dancer, dressed in black, embodies the ink itself, leaving traces in the air through movement—traces that appear and disappear. The film forgoes linear narrative in favor of a sensory flow, transcending the boundaries between the material and immaterial to delve into the deeper essence of existence. The title "O Ook" is inspired by the first ink of the Goryeo Dynasty, symbolizing the chaotic blackness of ash. "Moo" represents the dance language born from this ink, encapsulating the essence of the cycle embedded within it. This film exists somewhere between pure suffering and liberation—much like where we all are now. Through this raw flow, it is hoped that the audience will experience a new awakening.
