Heidi Thompson

Heidi Thompson is a Canadian visual artist and filmmaker whose work explores light, silence, and the transformative power of the inner journey. She holds a BFA, a Swiss Diploma in Professional Photography from the University of Art & Design Zurich and studied painting at the Nurnberg Art Academy and Hungarian University for Art in Budapest. For over a decade, Heidi was the photographer and close friend of Italian-Canadian artist Sveva Caetani. In 1995, she published Recapitulation, the book chronicling Caetani’s 56-painting spiritual odyssey. The book was awarded the 1996 VanCity Book of Excellence. Heidi has exhibited her paintings and photographs internationally, and can be found in several collections. Heidi’s first film, Recapitulation – A Journey, is a poetic, immersive adaptation of Caetani’s visionary work—honoring a legacy shaped by silence, resilience, and creative transcendence.
