SCREENWRITERS

For writers with a finished script

The script is done. It's placed in a few contests, maybe won one. And it's still sitting in the same folder it was in a year ago, because the thing standing between you and a producer isn't the writing — it's that you have no way to reach anyone who can say yes.

We're not an agency and we don't sign clients. We work as a non-exclusive representative on individual scripts: we assess where yours sits commercially, build the package a producer actually reads, and pitch it directly to producers matched to its genre and budget level. You keep every right to sell it yourself, and you owe us nothing on deals you close on your own.

WHY GOOD SCRIPTS DON'T GET READ

A producer's problem isn't finding scripts. It's that they get more than they can read, from people they don't know, with no way to tell in thirty seconds which one is worth an hour.

Almost every script that goes unread goes unread for one of four reasons, and none of them is quality:

It arrived cold. No introduction, no context, no reason to open it before the other forty in the inbox.

The frame is wrong. The logline sells a different film than the script delivers, so the reader arrives with the wrong expectations and stops on page ten.

The economics are invisible. Nothing in the pitch tells a producer what this costs to make or why it's a good business — and that's the question they're actually asking.

It went to the wrong door. Sales agents and distributors don't acquire unproduced specs. Neither do most of the companies writers send to first.

Fixing the writing doesn't solve any of these. That's a separate job, and we don't do it — we're not script consultants and we won't sell you notes. What we do is everything downstream of the draft.

FOUR STEPS, IN ORDER

We work sequentially, and we don't skip ahead. Outreach before positioning is how films get burned with buyers — you only get one first impression per company, and a badly framed pitch closes that door for a year.

01· Diagnose

What you actually have commercially, and whether a market exists for it.

02 · Position

The frame: genre lane, logline a producer can repeat from memory, the business case.

03 · Package

Pitch document, key art, concept reel — so the idea lands before anyone opens page one.

04 · Represent

We pitch it directly to matched producers, track every approach, and report what comes back.

We don't skip ahead. A script pitched before it's positioned burns the contact — you get one first approach per company, and a badly framed one closes that door for a year.

DIAGNOSE

Distribution Opinion — $300

A Market Read is generated by a model in minutes, and it's honest about what that means. This is the version a person writes. Same framework, but every claim verified by hand: each production company and programme checked as currently active and actually taking material like yours, named contacts with the specific route in — who reads, through what channel, and under whose remit this falls — and comparable deals with real terms, adjusted for your genre, budget level and year. Where a Market Read tells you the category, this tells you the name. Where it says "target boutique production houses," this says which ones, who to write to, and what they last put into development.

It closes with a written verdict from LSN's founder — the honest read on whether this script places, through which route, and what's currently blocking it. Including the parts we're uncertain about, and including the answer you may not want. Recent opinions have told writers their script was labelled the wrong genre entirely, that a prior stage production disqualified it from the programmes they were targeting, and that their realistic market was regional rather than international. That's the product.

Five to seven working days. Send the full script, logline, synopsis and your credits — and if something's missing that would change the answer, we'll ask rather than guess. One round of written questions is answered after delivery. It isn't reader data: no reader panel has evaluated the script, and if that's what you need, it requires an actual reading.

WHAT A PITCH ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

This is the shape of every approach we send. Four data points, each aimed at a different decision a producer makes — not a synopsis, and not a description of you.

The hook. One line, written against that specific company's slate. Not "your great work" — their actual title, and how this sits next to it.

The business angle. What this costs to make and why the economics are good. Contained location, no expensive elements, portable.

Audience-validated. Awards and real reader or audience response. Only real data — we don't invent numbers, and inventing them would cost us every buyer relationship we have.

The market. A comparable deal, named: what sold, to whom, for roughly what, and when.

Then two links — concept reel and pitch document — and one low-cost ask: reply and we'll send the script.

No attachments on a cold approach. One contact per company, never two in parallel. Maximum two follow-ups, then the thread goes dormant. These aren't stylistic preferences — they're what keeps a door open for the next script.

HOW WE WORK

  • Non-exclusive, always. You keep the right to sell the script yourself or through anyone else. We take commission only on deals we broker directly.

  • Per script, not per writer. We don't sign you. We represent a specific project for a specific term.

  • Sequential. Outreach doesn't start before positioning and packaging are complete and approved by you.

  • Fees upfront, per phase, plus a share of success when a deal closes. We're paid for the work regardless of outcome — which means we're never pushing your script somewhere that doesn't serve it just to book a commission.

  • Twelve-month term, renewable by agreement.

  • You keep 100% of the copyright. This is a representation agreement, not a transfer.

  • No guarantees. We don't promise sales, options, or production. Anyone who does is selling a certainty this market doesn't offer.

  • What you'll see. Every approach is logged and visible to you: which company, in what capacity, and where it currently stands — including the passes.

WHAT LSN IS NOT

  • We're not a literary agency — we don't sign writers or manage careers.

  • We're not script consultants — we don't sell notes, coverage, or rewrites.

  • We're not a production company — we don't finance or produce.

  • We don't work on commission only. Every engagement carries an upfront fee for the work.

  • And we don't take exclusive rights. Ever.

START WHERE IT MAKES SENSE

If you don't know yet whether there's a market for this script, start with a Market Read. $149, delivered in minutes, and it credits toward the Market Opinion if you go further.

If your script is bigger than one film — a world with more story than a feature can hold, characters that work outside their original format — that's a different conversation.
