Franco Gonzalez Bertolino
He began studying viola in Uruguay at the age of twelve, joining the "Orchestra System of Uruguay," inspired by the Orchestra System in Venezuela created by Maestro José Abreu. In 2009, he moved to the United States and later settled permanently in Italy, where he continued his studies at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence with Maestro Augusto Vismara, and subsequently at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, obtaining a diploma in Viola with Maestro Massimo Paris and in Chamber Music with Maestro Roberto Galletto. He also graduated with top honors from the master's program in viola at the "Briccialdi" Conservatory of Music in Terni. As a teacher and researcher, in 2017 he conceived the project "Orchestra Instabile Maratonda" in Montalto di Castro, focusing his work on collaboration with differently-abled individuals, conducting music therapy workshops and sound research, with significant results. Parallel to his musical activities, in the same year, he embarked on a new passion for audiovisual production as a videomaker. A passion through which he documents the entire creative journey of the Orchestra Instabile Maratonda. In 2024, he made his debut as the author and director of the documentary "Improvisione."
