Guillermo Ronco

In 1996, he graduated from the Fundación Universidad de Cine (F.U.C.) in Buenos Aires and began working as an editor and music video director for channels such as MTV and Much Music, among others. In 1997, the music video "El Nuevo Camino del Hombre" by the band A.N.I.M.A.L. won an MTV Award for Best Latin Hardcore Video. In 2000, while deepening his work in music videos, he also ventured into documentary formats, commercials, TV formats, and screenwriting for films. In 2001, he moved to Costa Rica for five years, where he directed commercials at the VyV production company owned by Victor Vega, and then assisted in directing the feature film MARASMO by Mauricio Mendiola. In 2005, he took over the direction of the documentary series ROCK ROAD, starring Zeta Bosio and broadcast on Much Music. In 2009, he attended the STORY screenwriting seminar by the renowned Robert McKee in Buenos Aires. In 2011, along with director and screenwriter Julian Martí, he founded the production company Renegado Films (www.renegadofilms.com), primarily focused on creating musical content for TV and web. There, he returned to directing music videos and was awarded Best Video of the Year 2012 by Poquet magazine in Santa Fé for the music video "Ocho Sueños" by the band Experimento Negro. He also produced demos for various documentary series for the web. From 2012 to 2014, he worked as a director, assistant director, and editor on content for TV and web for Disney and Fox at Mariano Rossi's production company, PranaMedia (www.pranamedia.com.ar). In 2015, Fundación Puentes/Australab awarded the first draft of his feature film script "Los Santos de Buenaventura" (thriller). From 2014 to 2017, he was in charge of developing new content for TV and web for the entire Central American region at the production company 2Fun2ME in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 2017, he launched several projects with El Cielo Cine, including the second draft of "Los Santos de Buenaventura," which was awarded by the ICAU development fund in the Fiction Project Development line. In 2018, they produced a teaser starring Nicolas Furtado, which won the International Transcendence Award at the Próximo International Film Festival. In 2019, the project progressed to negotiations with a third draft but was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, with Renegado Films, he resumed the development of the project “Los Santos de Buenaventura” and prepared material for another feature film in the same genre, "FUEGO". He recently wrote, directed and produced with Renegado Films the short film “MALA SANGRE” which is being applied in festivals around the world.
