Puri Mendez

Puri Méndez had her first contact with the world of audiovisuals in 2008, when she participated as a secondary actress in 2 short films by the Asturian director Javier Martín. In 2019, together with Ezequiel Sebastián, she made her first short film “La fiesta de la Democracia”. This short received the award for best photography and a special mention for best short film at the IV Rueda con Rueda Short Film Festival. The Democracy Festival has been selected for the Saldaña Film Week, the 7th Órbigo International Film Festival, the Social Short Film Festival, the Lugo Film Week, Visualízame, the Kursal Film Festival, the Aguilar de Campoo Short Film Festival and the of cinema and nature Valle de la Fuenfría. In February 2020, Human Resources made a mini-short with a social theme that is having an important run in national and international festivals and that has received, on May 25, 2021, the award for best short in Chile, at the International Film Festival of the Cono Sur and a few days later the first prize at the 11 Farcume: International Short Film Festival in Faro. Among the selections we would like to highlight the Madrid Indie Film Festival, the CTL59 European Contest for Audiovisual Creation, the ?Kingdom of León Film and Television Festival, the Insight half festival in India and the Invicines in Argentina. In June 2020, she made Haiku, a risky short film with a vertical reading that has been selected at the Jumpstart International Womens Film Festival in India, the Kingdom of León Film and Television Festival, the Free Film Festival Pro in Argentina and currently in the WomenTime of the Canary Islands and the Redmoon International Film Competition of Argentina. She currently works doing design and audiovisual work for the Department of Social Centers of the Oviedo City Council, which makes her opt for social and environmental issues in her scripts
