Set in an auditorium on a Saturday morning, a group of women are learning to be romantic. Based on Miranda July's short story "It was Romance", Romance creates an illuminating meeting point between the works of July and Pina Bausch.

We meet him at the crossroads of working through his depression and finding a new path (through therapy, on Lexipro, as a fry cook, as a taxi driver, playing 80's keyboard, swapping his touring van for a sensible Buick, and euthanizing his ailing cat “Puppy”).
