A grieving girl steps into a faded photograph and enters a dreamlike world of brushstrokes and memory. As colors vanish and reappear through rain and rewind, she follows whispers of the past toward healing. Memory Paint is a hand-painted meditation on love, loss, and the stories that live in silence.

Pyongyang, winter 1989. Kim Jong Il, watching the fall of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu on satellite television, is shaken by the live collapse of a fellow autocrat. This silent shock became a turning point that reshaped strategies, borders, and ideologies. This experimental film uses AI not just as a tool, but as a lens that reconstructs lost perspectives, imagines hidden moments, and challenges the boundaries between fact and fiction. By revealing what history didn’t record, it explores how technology can resurrect ghosts of the past and anticipate the echoes of authoritarianism in the present.

A mysterious creature was spotted by children in the waters of Lake Neusiedl in the 1970s. For years, local rumours linked it to strange accidents and unexplained events – until the story was forgotten. Half a century later, two filmmakers pick up the trail and find a woman who claims to have filmed the creature – and who, surprisingly, still lives with it today. But the monster isn’t cooperative at all: it’s far from terrifying, instead highly phlegmatic, and it refuses to speak. The documentary collapses. And the horror film they try to make instead slowly turns into something else.

Howard Philips Lovecraft and Fernando Pessoa were among the most influential writers of the first half of the XX century. Pessoa and Lovecraft did not know each other despite having lived at the same time, but there is a huge complementarity between their lives and works. TELEPATHIC LETTERS is a film, whose images were created exclusively through Animal Intelligence, in which a dialogue is established between his letters and essays, poems and fictions, an imaginary correspondence between the two authors, made exclusively from their texts, forming a new universe of artistic and literary possibilities, merging the Sensationism of Pessoa with the Weird Realism of Lovecraft.

Director:

Zemario Sheppard

Tender Requiem is a meditative short film that explores death through the eyes of innocence. In a space between worlds, two quiet angels—one a young adult, the other a child—gently escort children’s souls from life to what comes next. With no dialogue, minimal action, and a transcendental visual style, the film reflects on the soft gravity of parting, the beauty of stillness, and the sacredness of moving on. Tender Requiem is a transcendental short film that dwells in the stillness between life and what comes after. Two silent entities—one youthful, one younger—appear only when it’s time for a child to move on. They don’t speak. They don’t guide. They simply arrive. Told without dialogue, and grounded in minimalist visuals and long takes, the film invites viewers into an experience rather than a narrative—one shaped as much by absence as by presence. “Most of us see what we want to see,” the filmmaker reflects. “Instead, just see what is there.” There are no explanations, no right or wrong answers—just space to witness, reflect, and maybe, for a moment, understand.

AMPHORA – 103, 1996, Geoff Spencer “The paintings themselves are mind-numbing in their vision and execution. I have not been so moved since first seeing the works of Mexican revolutionary painters like Rivera, Tamayo, Orozco and Siqueiros.”

Invisible Machines is an experimental ethnographic film that explores the history and contemporary everyday of “real time captioners” who use stenotype machines to instantaneously transcribe classroom speech to readable text for d/Deaf students. Working against common misconceptions that human captioners and stenotype machines are obsolete relics, my film is part of a larger project that understands stenographic labour not as mired in the past, but as a complex, idiosyncratic and important case. By interrupting the normative coherence of sound and image, the film reflexively undermines the fluency of its own audio track, recreating the gaps in the work of interpretation and translation, making these palpable to the viewers. The real-time experience of stenographic labor has much to say to our current concerns about automation, the future of work, and evolving notions of information and access.

Prove yourself. Then the system decides what you are. Classification: Human is a minimalist, genre-bending sci-fi triptych about systemic recursion, psychological compliance, and what remains when the machine only cares about what you’re classified as — not why or how you got there. Across three tightly wound narratives, what begins as evaluation ends in something much colder. And one certainty remains: the system will continue. Classification: Human is the first standalone short in the speculative sci-fi anthology, Affect Protocol. The anthology examines how humans and systems attempt to quantify, regulate, or erase feeling — and potential resistance from within. Whether through satire, memory loops, or quiet rebellion, these stories confront what happens when emotional compliance and empathy become the law of survival.
