Live Screenings International: where an indie film or script meets a real audience and an honest read
WHO THIS IS FOR
This is the one with no genre door on it. A drama, a comedy, a hybrid that never fitted anywhere, a first feature, a film that has been called uncategorisable by three programmers in a row, it comes here on the same terms as everything else.
That is the point of a general festival, and it is also where most of them fail: with no genre to hold them together, they end up programming by reputation instead. We do the opposite. Every submission is watched, every selected film screens for a live room in Tbilisi and on our Festival Channel online, and the audience decides what worked without knowing whose film it is.
Films and screenplays, any genre, any length, any country. AI-driven work is accepted and always has been.
WHAT YOU GET
If your project is selected
✅ A screening in front of a live audience in Tbilisi and on our Festival Channel, the same night
✅ Structured audience feedback: recommendation score, component ratings, written responses
✅ A written jury statement on the work itself, not a template
✅ Official Selection laurels and certificate
✅ A project page on our site with your poster, stills, trailer and the audience reviews
✅ A full Audience Feedback Report, free in exchange for a FilmFreeway review
✅ Announcement across our channels
If it is not selected
✅ An LSN Reviewer Note: a brief expert read on the work and where it sits
That last one is the part most festivals skip. You paid an entry fee and got a form email. We would rather tell you something.
HOW THE SCREENING WORKS
Films are shown one after another on the festival days, in a room with actual people in it.
Viewers answer three questions on every film: would you recommend it, how would you rate it, and what did and didn't work for you. The same model runs on the Festival Channel online, where the work is available to a verified audience for the duration.
Those two streams produce two separate awards, Festival Winner from the live room, Channel
Audience Choice from the online vote, alongside the jury's own nomination awards.
If nobody watched a project, it gets no audience data, and we say so.
WHY A FESTIVAL IS ATTACHED TO A MARKET
LSN is not only a festival. We run a distribution and representation arm that takes finished films and screenplays to buyers and producers, and we have been reading independent work since 2015: over 5,000 projects from 159 countries.
The flagship edition is where that overlap is widest. A general programme means the whole range walks through it: genre pieces with a clear commercial hook, quiet dramas that belong in a different market entirely, first features by directors worth watching, projects whose real value is the writer rather than the film. Those all need different answers, and the answer is not always distribution.
That is the frame the jury statement is written in, by people who spend the rest of their week working out where independent work actually belongs.
We do not guarantee that anything follows from it. Most projects are here for the screening and the feedback, and that is a complete reason to submit.
SCREENPLAY CONTEST
Live Screenings International includes a screenplay contest, open to any genre and format: feature, short, TV pilot, limited series.
Selected scripts get an excerpt published on the contest page: five to ten pages, or roughly ten percent, never the full text without your permission, alongside a Festival Opinion written by our team on the script and its potential. Readers download, read and vote using the same model as the films.
That vote produces the Readers' Choice Award.
We read every script in full rather than off a synopsis. With no genre filter on the contest, that is the only way to judge one fairly against the next.

WHAT WE DON'T PROMISE
We do not guarantee selection, awards, or distribution.
We do not sell festival laurels, and we do not run a submission mill: most projects that come in are not selected, and we tell those writers and directors why.
Entry fees are what they are. What we can promise is that every submission is read or watched by a person, and that everyone hears something back.
NOT SURE THIS IS THE RIGHT FESTIVAL?
Most filmmakers submit to festivals the way you buy lottery tickets: widely, and hoping.
A Market Read tells you which strands your project actually fits, which are structurally closed to it, and what to fix before you spend anything on entry fees.
Nine sections on a finished film or screenplay: the realistic buyer landscape, the channels currently active, what is blocking a deal. Delivered in minutes.
Sometimes it tells people not to submit.
We publish it anyway.
