When the head of Canada’s top spy agency issues a chilling warning— state-sponsored corporate espionage is the greatest threat to the nation’s future—a hidden war is already underway. In the shadows, a disavowed CSIS agent, once the agency’s finest, uncovers a global conspiracy linking cyber-attacks, assassinations, and economic sabotage to the world’s most powerful governments and corporations. Branded a traitor and hunted by the very country he once swore to protect, he vanishes off the grid. But when a devastating attack on innocent civilians bears the same fingerprints as the conspiracy he uncovered, he’s forced out of hiding. On the run and out of allies, he reaches across borders to a secret alliance of international operatives willing to risk everything to stop a silent world war from erupting. What begins as a fight to protect secrets becomes a race to expose them—and a test of how far one man will go to defend a nation that turned its back on him. Explosive, high-stakes, and disturbingly plausible, Mancala is a gritty spy thriller where loyalty is a weapon, truth is dangerous, and the most powerful enemies are hiding in plain sight. The war for the future won’t be fought on battlefields—it’ll be fought in boardrooms, back alleys, and behind firewalls. "Mancala: Crisis in Bauxite Mining" is the pilot episode for the upcoming TV series "Mancala".

REVIEWS:

Felt like a very generic 'Bourne' knock-off.

Exactly what I want from a modern spy thriller! The concept of a hidden world war fought through corporate espionage and cyber-attacks is terrifyingly plausible. The opening sequence with the unexpected package delivery immediately sets a paranoid tone. When he revealed he'd been hiding out in Halifax the whole time... great moment. I need episode 2 right now!

Cool action! It got a bit confusing with all the different factions and who is betraying who, but maybe that's the point of a spy story. The ending left me wanting more.

Zura Japaridze

Super tense! I was on the edge of my seat during the attacker scene. You really feel the protagonist's absolute isolation.
