Broke gamer Nola loses her bartending job for standing up to a creep who snatches her AirPod. Eviction looms and her roommate is out of patience. Mid-gaming session, Nola learns her missing father has been declared dead, and a half-sister she never knew about has inherited his farm. In a last-ditch attempt to make rent, Nola treks out to the East Texas farmhouse, where due to her sister Iris’s extreme EMF sensitivity, no electronics are allowed—and the house has no electricity. After failing to make inroads with Iris, Nola decides to shake the house down for cash in the dead of night. When she turns on her forbidden phone for light, a demon awakens and takes possession of her sister. A feral fight tears through the dark. Fleeing Nola hides in a rundown barn, where she uncovers the gruesome fate of her missing father. Just when she thinks she’s escaped to safety in the woods, Demon Iris ambushes her. In the final struggle, Nola impales Demon Iris with a pitchfork, pinning her to a tree and confronting the distressing reality that while she may have battled a demon, it’s human Iris who is dying. As Nola flees, she unwittingly takes the demon back to civilization with her. In a dark but satisfying twist, Nola uses the FindMy app to find the creeper from the bar who still has her AirPod, and Demon Nola takes revenge.
