Brandon Kim

Brandon Kim, age 15, is a freshman at Oakton High School in Virginia. He is passionate about social justice and human rights issues. He recently interviewed a Ukrainian refugee family who had to leave their home at the outset of the war and struggled to settle in the United States. Their story was so powerful and touching that it inspired him to make a short documentary film about Ukrainian war refugees. Brandon wanted to share their story and tell the world why it is so important that we embrace and help them. Other than filmmaking, Brandon is an accomplished cellist, a creative writer, and a competitive debater at his school debate team.
