Striped Tale — Where Animated Work Meets a Real Audience and a Real Market

Striped Tale is the animation festival and screenplay contest of Live Screenings Network — hand-drawn, CGI, stop-motion, mixed media and anime, from children’s work to adult animation.

Animated shorts travel further commercially than most filmmakers expect: curated platforms, streamers and broadcast slots all buy them. Selected work here is looked at with that in mind, and where there is a genuine route, we point to it by name.

What you actually get back

Most festivals answer you with a laurel or a rejection. We answer with a written read.

Selected films and screenplays receive a full Audience Feedback Report — recommendation score, component ratings, emotional profile, pull quotes you can use in your own marketing, and our curatorial verdict. Free, in exchange for a review of your festival experience on FilmFreeway.

Not selected? Ask us, and you receive an LSN Reviewer Note — a short expert read on the work and an honest pointer on where it can realistically go. Free, on request. You do not have to settle for a form rejection.

Award winners receive a full Distribution Opinion as well: our written verdict on where the project can realistically sell and what is helping or blocking a deal.

The screening

Selected films are screened live in Tbilisi, Georgia, and simultaneously on our Festival Channel for registered viewers worldwide. The Channel screening is optional — you decide. Our audience of film professionals, producers and dedicated viewers rates every film on Script, Directing, Acting, Cinematography, Music and Overall Impact, and writes reviews. Those reviews live on your project page on our site, and they are yours to use.

The screenplay contest

Selected scripts are published on the Contest Page with a logline, a synopsis, a 5–10 page excerpt — you set the length — and a Festival Opinion: our professional evaluation of concept, craft and market potential. Your full script is never made public. Loglines and opening pages are presented to producers and directors in our network, and where there is interest, we make the introduction.

Why this festival is attached to a market

LSN is not only a festival. We run a distribution and representation arm that packages films and screenplays and takes them to buyers, producers and platforms. That is why the awards here carry services rather than only laurels — a written Distribution Opinion for winners, and optional placement in our buyer catalogue.

It also means the door stays open to everyone. Selected or not, any participant can ask us to look at the project and set out the realistic distribution routes and what working with us would involve. Those services are paid, always optional, and always non-exclusive.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee sales, distribution deals, or acceptance at other festivals. We never take exclusive rights. Everything beyond the festival itself is optional, paid only if you choose it, and always non-exclusive. What we do promise is that a real person watches or reads your work and tells you the truth about it.

Your project page presents your work to our audience and industry network without giving access to the full film or script outside the festival. It stays live for a month after the event, with the option to extend or remove it.

What Each Award Level Includes

Every award here comes with LSN market services on top of the laurel. The items below are complimentary — included at no cost.

Official Selection — laurels, certificate, a dedicated project page and the screening itself, plus a full Audience Feedback Report ($150), free in exchange for a review of your festival experience on FilmFreeway.

Award Winners — everything above, plus a full Distribution Opinion ($300): our written verdict on where the project can realistically sell, and what is helping or blocking a deal.

Catalogue placement, if you want it — award winners can ask to be listed in the LSN buyer catalogue for 12 months, free of charge. We circulate catalogue titles to our buyer network as opportunities come up. If a deal comes through us, our share is 15%; on any deal you make yourself, nothing. Catalogue titles are listed as submitted — rights, clearances and technical quality remain your responsibility, and we present them as catalogue entries, not as titles we represent.

Open to every participant

Selected or not, award or no award, you can ask us to assess the project for distribution and set out the realistic routes for it. Where we see a genuine market fit, we say so and explain what working with us would involve. Where we do not, we say that too.

What is not included

Packaging, festival and distribution strategy, and active outreach to buyers or producers are separate paid services. They are never automatic and never part of an award — winners simply get them at a reduced rate, confirmed in the award letter. Every agreement with us is non-exclusive, and you can walk away from the festival with the complimentary items above and nothing else.

3️⃣ Selection and screening.

Selected films screen live in Tbilisi and on the Festival Channel. Selected screenplays are published on the Contest Page with logline, synopsis, a 5–10 page excerpt and our Festival Opinion. Your full script is never made public.

4️⃣ Voting and reviews.

Films are rated on Script, Directing, Acting, Cinematography, Music and Overall Impact. Screenplay excerpts are read and voted on by registered readers, including industry professionals. Your Audience Feedback Report follows after the event.

5️⃣ Awards and what comes next.

Winners receive laurels, a certificate, a personalized digital diploma and the LSN service package for their award level. Projects that were not selected can request an LSN Reviewer Note. And whichever way it went, you can ask us to assess the project for distribution — where we see a real market fit, we say so, and the next step is yours to take, on your terms.
